Each night, another of my main responsibilities was to write and edit ESPN's daily newsletter. I utilized news judgment, company priorities and live analytics to pick which 8-9 stories would be used each day. After I selected the stories I wrote the headlines and subheads for each piece of content, and wrote the subject line for the email. One of the last things I would do each night was to work with the photo department to get a custom banner image created for the top of the newsletter, something that would draw the readers in when they first opened the newsletter each morning.
